Just the other day, I was in my bedroom folding clothes and all of the sudden I could smell my father’s scent. Not like an aftershave smell, just the smell I remember him having. This was just 2 days before the Superbowl.

On Superbowl Sunday, I was in the living room polishing all the furniture and moving some things around trying to get organized and ran across the dowsing rods I have here. My two youngest daughters were sitting on the couch and I took the rods over to where they were sitting and set them down. My daughter Megan decided to pick them up and the two of them started to ask questions to see if anything would happen. My only regret was that I didn’t video any of it.

I don’t know if any of you out there have ever tried using these rods but let me just say, it simply amazed me. This was the first time they were really used. The rods moved every single time we asked a question within seconds and not just moved, but moved the way we told it to. Here is what happened.

Megan was holding the rods and Marcella asked “if there is a family member here, please point to the piano.” And so it did. I said “it’s my dad”, I told Matt I smelled him the other day when I was in my bedroom.
So Marcella asked “if you are Dedo, please point the rods straight”…and it did. Please note that it moved seconds after each question every single time and unless I told Megan to set them down and pick them back up, they moved from where they were previously.
Next Marcella asked, “Dedo, make the rods go in a circle”…and it did.
Next Megan asked a question. They were now pointing straight out. “if you are Dedo, point the rods to Marcella”…and it did.
Megan put them down and picked them back up so they would be straight.
Then Marcella asked “point them to mom.” And so it did.
Megan sat them back down and we waited a few minutes.
Megan picked them back up and said “Dedo, if you are still here, point to Marcella.” And it did.
(Wish I would have been more prepared and did a video of this)
Next I decided to ask a question so I said, “dad, if you are still here, point to the piano…and it did.
I asked, “Dad, did Steve (my brother) come to visit me, if so…point to Marcella.” And it did, this is when it was pointed completely the opposite way at the piano.
Then Marcella asked, “Dedo, did uncle Steve come in my dream to tell me he died (whole other story I’ll share later) point it straight as it was still on Marcella…and it did.
Megan asked, “if someone sits on Marcella’s bed, point one to the piano and one to Marcella…and it did.
Then I asked, “Dad, if mom came and sat on the edge of my bed years ago, point them at me.” And so it did.
Marcella got up and went to a different chair then I asked, “Dad, is it true that you and Mary saw mom’s apparition on the bed, point to Marcella.” And it did.

So as you can imagine, it was quite strange and made my youngest cry. Not because she was frightened in any way, just that you start missing people all over again. To me, I feel fine about it because I believe that my dad who passed away in 2005 can see the accomplishments that my daughters have. That maybe our loved ones really do watch over us.

If we decided to do that again, I will make sure I have it on video and also do an evp session.

This is a true story about a  first hand experience with my daughter.

Soon after my mother had passed away, I went to my parents house so I could do a couple loads of laundry. At that time, my first daughter Ashley was only 3 years old and she was there with me.  My father was still working at McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) in St. Louis, MO. The house I was in was the first house my father and mother had purchased after being married and they were the only ones to ever live there for it was a new built home back in the 50′s.

The house was quiet for all my siblings are much older than me so the house was empty for they all lived elsewhere. I wasn’t planning on staying there while the laundry was going but since I had to go in the basement to do it, I told my daughter to sit in the recliner and I would turn on Sesame Street for her. She was a very good child and so she sat and watched T.V. while I ran downstairs.

The living room was barely lit up, for the picture window curtains were perfectly straight with blinds closed so you couldn’t see in or out. My father was always big on closing up the house when no one would be home. It was daytime yet the light just barely filtered in the living room. The blue recliner was several feet away from the picture window. The couch was directly under the picture window and the love seat and couch was in an L shape with only an end table separating them. The love seat is where my mother spent most of her time. She was sick quite often with kidney and heart disease so she would normally lay down on the love seat which faced the T. V.

I started my load of laundry and then was ready to come back up the steps which leads into the kitchen then into the living room. I had lots of errands to run that day so I would be back later to start another load. I must of been in the basement no more than 5 minutes. I was kinda in a hurry so I wasn’t really paying close attention to my daughter while I was grabbing my keys and purse and telling her, “let’s go, we have got running to do”. As I walked towards the door, I turned to look at Ashley who was still sitting in that blue recliner. She wasn’t looking at me or paying me any bit of attention at that point. Instead, she was smiling and waving real cute like 3 year old children do, to the far end of the couch. I said, “Ashley, what are you doing”? I didn’t have a clue why my 3 year old would do such a thing when there wasn’t anyone there…or was there?

She finally replied to me and said in the sweetest voice, “I’m waving goodbye to Memo”. Long e and long o. This is what we call grandmother’s in our family. At this point, I don’t know what to do or say but after hearing what she just said to me, I find myself looking in the direction she is waving and really studying that area hard like I’m going to see something if I stare long enough. Like I would see my deceased mother.

Totally spooked out now, I snapped out of it and told my daughter, “let’s go NOW”. I didn’t know what to think, how to feel and what to do except get out of there and quick.

This wasn’t the end of that though. I locked the door behind us and we started to walk down the front steps, onto the sidewalk and towards my car. I get halfway to my car and you know how you get that feeling that someone is watching you and you know you shouldn’t look back but you do anyways? Yes well I decided to look back at the house and I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

During the time my mother was alive, she was really weird about answering the door when she wasn’t expecting anyone. If she heard a car door or someone out side she could hear talking, etc. she would very gently and slowly pull the curtain open at the edge of the picture window, just enough to peek outside to look. So when I looked back because my gut told me to do so, I seen that the edge of the curtains were pulled aside as though someone (my mom) was looking or peeking out the window.

I didn’t see the curtains move, and I most certainly did not see my mother’s ghost but I believe that my daughter seen her that day. That’s good enough for me to believe that she was there in some fashion.

I'm sorry I don't blog here much, usually way busy with other things but wanted to write a bit on my experience of hearing residual music in real time and for the first time ever. I don't know if many of you have ever heard such a thing but let me tell you, I thought I was going crazy at the time. It was dead silent as three of us sat in the upper hall way of the Masonic Lodge in Granite City. All of the sudden I start to hear a melody playing which you can hear the evp on our evp page. I am so glad it was captured on our digital recorders because I know I wasn't crazy and did in fact hear this. It played on for several seconds and then just stopped. I wasn't feeling anything strange around me the whole time we were there but Matt and Marcella got chills or felt strange and as soon as they did, we picked up more evps with some "hellos", "come help us", "help me", "hey" and I wish I knew what to do after hearing these things. How does a living person help a spirit really? I'm not sure if we should go back and tell them to go to the light or what exactly. It just makes me wonder why a soul would need help in the first place. Something we will probably never know.

Thanks for reading.

I had quite a unique experience at Mineral Spring's (Hotel) now Mall in Alton, IL. It was my first visit to this building. The building was used in the beginning as a slaughter house from what I'm told, back in the late 1800's but in 1910, workmen began drilling a well for an ice-making and cold storage facility and discovered a natural spring under the ground. Did we go down there...we sure did, three stories below the main floor of the hotel.  Talk about creepy!  The hotel itself opened up in 1914 and had the largest mineral springs pool in Illinois.  Where I had the crazy experience was not down there but instead on the upper floor in a room that was nothing but studs. You could see through most of the upstairs just by standing in one room.

What I had caught with my own eyes still boggles me for I don't ever recall seeing quite what I saw ever before. You can watch the video on our video page, located under the evidence link. I didn't realize until the next day that I had also captured it to video. Just before I see this, I had moved my tripod over and didn't think it was even pointed in the right direction. At first I felt speechless and was almost in shock because I didn't understand what my eyes just saw. I won't say it's a ghost but it is definitely odd. Besides that, it was just after that, that one of the guests had asked a questions and I got a EVP response. Later to find out that there is a little girl named Krisandra who supposedly is known to haunt there. I swear that is the name I hear being answered several seconds after the question was asked. So did I see the spirit of this little girl? Who knows but it's quite something to me as i feel this was a paranormal experience.
